Projects
Undergraduate projects in software, culture, and sustainability.
Before my research career, I enjoyed building things with a purpose. These undergraduate projects in Nepal range from virtual reality and graphics to food, language preservation, games, and conserving resources.
Redirected Walking in Virtual Reality
How can someone explore a large virtual world while walking within a smaller physical space? As the main developer, I implemented three redirected walking techniques in Unity: translational gain, rotational gain, and curvature gain. We built experimental scenes and a playable VR game, then studied how the techniques affected participants’ experience and performance using an HTC Vive.
The project grew alongside my internship at Paracosma. I also explored maze generation for the game environment. I’m grateful to Ken Ehrhart, CEO of Paracosma, and Sujit Jha for sharing equipment and development resources, and to our project supervisor Prof. Dr. Shashidhar Ram Joshi for his guidance.
